    yes i do have a vertical sight tube on the tank. if the on/off valve is faulty i will have to wait for the plumber tomorrow :( i have a pic of the burner on my profile if that would help btw yes it could be water but it looks like when there WAS air in the line when i ran out of oil years ago

    yes my burner is bright red but it doesnt look like any of those pictured. yes my plumber suggested the oil may have turned waxy. i haven't run out of oil in years but there is air in the fuel line i can see it when trying to get the oil thru

    i've managed to do it before when i ran out of oil once. this time tho, i wonder whether its actually dragging air in. or whether the cold has had an effect. it was minus 13 here last night

    Vent air out through the vent/pressure gauge port on the oil pump. no idea how to do that. would it be possible for me to ring one of u or one of u to ring me?

    my stirling oil burner has air in the fuel line. my plumber suggested tricking the photoelectric cell with a torch to keep the burner running to drag the air lock through (he can't come until tomorrow and its freezing here), but i cant find it. the model and ser. no. is 00-11-G140 3146. can...
