Negative Head pump for a shower

yes. negative head pumps ar commonly used when ther is no gravity flow or very limited flow. Positive head pumps require a flow to start them. Negative head pumps do not require a flow to start them.

whole house pump delay in water arriving when taps opened

OK if your able to remove the non return valve as they cause a restriction. remember its teh gravity flow of water that starts the pump so if the gravity is delayed the pump will be delayed. Most commonly people think the water is delayed coz the pump has not started/delayed starting. (This...

whole house pump delay in water arriving when taps opened

binguk, what is the pump description, model and serial number? is it flow switch or pressure switch operated? do you get a flow imediatly when opening the tap or is the flow delayed? non return valves in my oppinion are used to cover issues rather than cure and do caues a restiction so I...

Shower booster pump intermittent but now stopped working

Steve, have a chat with Triton but remember you need a flow to operate a flow switch. if you have no flow or a dribble it will not operate the switch. if you open shower valve and you get next to nothing in flow it wont work and them your looking at why no flow/whats stopping it from flowing.

    Problems with New Shower Pump

Kevin, agree with Fluffer, unless you have the negative head option you need the water to flow under gravity at the outlet to activate the pump. Air locks, valves closed, pipework routing etc can all make a differeance. If your unable to get the water out of the shower head try at the outlet...

    Shower pump not stopping

John, you will have to contact the manufacturer for parts if avaliable. Many cheapo plastic pumps are not worth trying to repair. But make sure it is the pump at fault first B4 you buy another as mixer issues can cause all sorts of problems. When pump running when it should not be, close outlet...

Shower booster pump intermittent but now stopped working

OK steve, this sounds like you have a flow switch operated pump and only a dribble to activate it. (and its not happening) Whats known as a positive head pump generally need about 1 litre per minuts hot and cold inderpendantly to activat the internal FLOW switches. If you have only a...

Best way to go for new shower

Caution. If you have a wood burner to heat hot cylinder there is a good chance you have uncontroled hot water temp. Most pumps are limited to 65 Deg C. There are ways round this with a thermostatic mixer B4 pump but it must be restiction free and free to vent back through system. I see no...

    Shower pump cut outs

Pete, the run time is down to the motor rating. I.E. it is desigmed to have a rest period to cool down. (intermittantly rated) This will also depend on ambient temp, designed flow rate of shower etc. If you want to get a continuously rated motor you will have to pay more money but by the...

    Negative or positive head pump

Assuming the shower is a mixer of some sort, and the cold is off the rising mains use a negative head pump. As per twgas, storage is a big issue (or in a combination cylinder a little issue) as there is not realy enough there to pump in the first place. Hope this is of help.

    Shower pump issue please help

Air trapped after pump. (quite common on new install, hot temp sky high, no flange fitted or fitted round wrong way) Close the pump hot inlet valve and I bet it stops. If this does look for any possible air trap after the pump I.E. up and over pipework and vent it. Don't fit non return...
