I am no expert as i said , but i suspect the emf would be higher and in any case much higher than 230. All the neutrals are connected. Rcds are normally earth fault devices as they detect an imbalance in live and neutral - i suspect this could trigger it as the neutral would have a bigger...
As coljack says there is a back emf from the inductance in the ballast there is also a capacitor ( the one for power factor correction) across the inductance and tube. It could be that this failing affects the ability of the circuit to deal with it. If this capacitor fails i believe the light...
1) Don't think screw connections ie junction boxes are allowed under the floor boards - need to look at other ways of joining the cables - crimping or other no-maintenance box?
3) think outside circuits are notifiable to LABC - otherwise ok
2) sorry can't visualise it
obviously you know the layout best and lifting flags is a lot of hard work, but can you not come out of the wall and go up cross the path at 7 feet or so high and then come down a post?
Although it is better to bury your swa it is not an absolute requirement. You could run it along a series of discreetly positioned posts so that you don't have to take up your new patio.
Thanks for the reply - it's a diy on a house i'm doing up. Never come across armaflex lagging before - would that be available from a good plumbers merchant? I suppose if it does burst at least it is in the right place to minimise the damage
Hi i know this is obviously not the best idea but is there anyway of running hot and cold water pipes on an outside wall (specially insulated pipes?). I need to take water up to an upstairs bedroom and running them internally would be a major problem due to position of stairs etc. cheers.
