    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Hi baxpoti, I'm relying on engineers who've attended so I'll try and answer your questions. The flue is straight though, literally out the back of the boiler horizontally and out the wall, can't be any more than 1/2 metre. Engineer has checked this apparently, no paperwork left to say that...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Still no call back, apparently Call Manager getting all the details together. Looks like a losing battle from now on. Any advice on how to handle the "nothing more we can do" with the Call Center Manager complaints folks? I wasn't even given paperwork from the senior engineer who said it was...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

If they find an engineer who knows the boiler i'd imagine it would be an easy diagnosis. The problem being is the guys are just guessing and changing parts in the hope it will fix it. There's been no diagnosis done as such, they've heard the noises but never given a definite answer. I'll keep at...

Yup it goes like this Boiler goes on, green light is on could be 2 mins, could be 5. BANG (loudest) Green light off, boiler ignites again Green light goes on for a second, then off, then 2nd Bang, not just so loud. Green light off, boiler ignites again Green light goes on for a second...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Hi Nickso, It's a Powermax 135, big ass white boiler, orange coloured across the control panel, has a timer and a rocker switch which can go to cont / timed / off. I'm prodding away at British Gas, difficult though as all I've had is excuses / teflon shoulders. But I'll get there in the end.

Yeah the boiler was maintained by the council, the original gas valve upgrade was done ages ago as there's a sticker on the boiler to say its been done. BG had replaced again as it may have been the problem. No further forward tho, BG have it now logged as a complaint and the person who said...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Seems this is going to be more hassle! No call has been passed to manufacturer, they want to send another engineer. I thought the escalation process was too easy. Supposedly it's being escalated to a manager! Tempted to just get Gasco to come out and pay for it myself, they fitted them around...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Phoned back, explained to BG i'd phoned heatteam, BG have requested that the manufacturer (of which heatteam is the service division) give me a call to arrange an appointment.

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Well manager guy came out, spent 40mins, says there's nothing more they can do as everything is either new or nearly new. Reckons gas / air mix is too high and it cannot be adjusted as it's been locked in place by the council when it was fitted. I smell a fob off, can anyone back me up on this...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Yo folks, Just dropping a quick line, I'm not shouting at anyone on the BG line, just plodding away, it stumps me as much as anything, after continual whumping and thumping last night / this morning / daytime it's been fine tonight, so I've gotta sympathise with the engineers as I never like...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Engineer is coming back with his technical manager tomorrow, if it remains unresolved the manager can apparently get a specialist in. I get the feeling this is going to end up with me being left with a banging boiler and apologies. I've been told I can replace the boiler for about £1000 with a...

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

It went silent for a while (two weeks maybe), only thing I had done was add non corrosive sludge remover to the expansion tank. Now it's back. Well, Gas valve upgraded. No difference. Can't find anyone who'll commit to fixing it without running through all the parts at my cost (which is...

A big thanks to you both for the advice. I'll get that dealt with.

    Powermax 135 bangs when windy!

Hiya, It's not been upgraded that I know of. Homecare replaced a gasket that apparently needs done every so often as it gets hair round it. And the PCB board connector wiring was replaced. It seems to heat up from cold ok, radiators all go warm, burns for about 5 mins, then the burner...
