ah. the rad vent is the bleed valve.....got it. last night it left it at 2.6 bar, this morning it was at about 1.6, and did fire up when I changed the thermostat. It's humming along "contentedly" at 2.2 now. I'm collecting numbers for when I call-out. I've got about 40L of oil left in the tank...
ok that diagram doesn't appear to correspond to the boiler layout I have. again half of the rest of that was foreign (I have no idea what a rad(iator) vent is -- or where it is, or where the inlet or outlet pipe is without going over the text on a print out without it in front of me. I'm just...
ok thanx. I've just done 3/4 turn of the towel radiator ("top" of the system), just a tiny amount of water came out no air, I tightened it back up. Do you think that bare white pin is the pressure valve, and someone didn't replace the red cap?
I've just turned the thermostat down for half an hour to switch it off, pressures gone from approx 3.1, to 2.6. have switched it on again. can anyone possibly confirm that the bare white pin is the pressure release valve? would I press that down to take the dial down from 3.0? (5 minutes later)...
I've just found this. I wonder? one white pin with no red cap over it. That's comes from a flexi pipe which comes direct from the pressure dial pipework. maybe someone (a call out) has been playing with it, and didn't put it back on (previous owners/tennants/call out I'm guessing)
if the pressure is at 3, can I manually press something in to lower it to 2 for example? right now it hasn't blown up (touch pipe.....) so I'm as inclined to just leave it until I phone someone. I did just try a small bleed from the top of the towel heater (highest point) and a tiny amount of...
re call out - of course. I'm absolutely going to get a call-out to have a check over it [assuming it doesn't explode before then] Do you or anyone know where on these two images it would be? I've consulted google, and the results don't seem to be in the photo
If anyone can advise. thanks.
Boiler was at 2.2 when I left it last night, had dropped to 1 this morning and needed the wras lever turning
it currently at just over 3 - which I'm aware is too high for comfort? When I turned the wras lever this morning, it kicked in at about 2.0
ok, here are some photos. I can see the pipe that says "use a pressure reducing valve", but can't actually see the valve. the blue wras lever on the side is the one that I think the boiler service guy put on there himself. I guess I will keep an eye on the pressure gauge to see how it fluctuates...
I'll need to start doing some checks that I hadn't done before. when it was working I hadn't paid much attention to it. I'll need to start doing some checks when it's "good". some parts of the manual contained information which was completely alien to me without some introductory knowledge --...
thanks but most of that is a foreign language to me (I'll have to re read it) and also sounds more technical and involved than I should be attempting. it's a warmflow KC90HE (installed 2017 as far as I know), has been serviced regularly (most recently last June or so I believe), but the boiler...
so if possible if you or anyone could tell me if I've got this right. I thought that this pressure dial (3 bar) was air, and was some mysterious subsystem inside the boiler. but the 3 bar is actually the water pressure of the entire central heating pipework inside the house? so if I did open a...
thanks I've seen the expansion vessel yes, largish round grey disc, about the diameter of a football. I saw it from taking the boiler side panel off then a few googles later found descriptions of what I was looking at
ok cool so I think I'm learning something. the 50mL let out from the un...
This is what (confuses/curious/need more input [short circuit film reference]) question is I'm trying to understand....if I accidentally let out about 50mL of water from over bleeding, does that mean the closed system now is missing 50mL of water, and when I re pressurize the boiler, does that...
