Thanks for all 39 replies, we now have hot water after 13 days of carrying large pots of water upstairs boiled on the stove and we have central heating too. Cut off the old stopcock with a hacksaw blade and put in a new one. My plumbing is improving, but I still prefer electrics.
There is a straight compression joint under the DHW outlet which has pressure, the old stopcock makes no noise when opened so looks likely. May have to cut the pipe and start again but access very difficult as it is between 2 other pipes with little gap, must buy parts first before starting, my...
I removed and refitted the manual flow adjuster which was a waste of time but now the DHW flow switch has sprung a leak in 2 places even though this is one of the few components I haven't touched, How tight should the screw on the top of the expansion vessel be?
Am looking with suspicion at...
I used stopcocks to isolate the boiler which are the right way round, there is no way all the taps have simultaneous gone from working perfectly to all being blocked.
The link fig is for puma 80 and is vastly different from my puma 100e, the stopcocks all appear to be working. I have already replaced the whole diverter valve but this may have been pointless as I only replaced it due to the lack of water and thinking I hadn't fitted the wax valve properly.
I must have a different manual as fig 2 in mine shows how to wire a plug, fig 1 shows the flow but no 109 or 110.
I am still at a loss, how many possible barriers are there between the mains water inlet and the dhw outlet? I am looking at the expansion vessel and the dhw flow switch, it can't...
Have removed the restricter on the inlet valve and also fully opened the DHW manual flow adjuster, no difference.
The diverter valve itself has no means that I can see to stop the hot water flow.
Have removed the inlet filter which was not blocked and have removed the restricter, and also fully opened the manual DHW flow restricter, no difference.
The water supply is getting as far as the diverter valve under normal pressure (got squirted in the eye undoing front nut).
Before changing the diverter the hot water was working perfectly but rads took hours to get lukewarm.
Recently drained the boiler -Potterton Puma 100e combi to fit a new diverter valve which improved the central heating 10 fold but have no water coming from the hot taps, just a small trickle then none.
Have started by assuming it is an airlock and have tried the usual blocking mixer taps...
