cylinder stat (different question, same topic name)

Wicked cheers Chris ;) I already know where it should go - I've done this before on a uninsulated cylindiner. Thanks again.

cylinder stat (different question, same topic name)

Hi again all... I've got a new cylinder and cylinder stat, but don't know where to put the stat - as the cylinder is covered in foam and is really effectively insulated. Is it simply a case of cutting a bit of foam away avec stanley knife, so the stat can make contact with the tank? Cheers...

    Connecting a HW cylinder

Sounds good - I'll get some. I was a little bashful about putting any force on a stilson when tightening a cylinder fitting, simply because the copper seems to be so flimsy.

    Connecting a HW cylinder

Ricarbo - My original thought was an adjustable basin wrench, but I couldn't find one big enough - all the ones I could find were 'for tap connectors up to 3/4" ' - I even went to B&Q with the compression nut to see if theirs could be persuaded to do 1" - but nope. Corgigazza - I think I'm...

    Connecting a HW cylinder

Aright all... I was wondering how a plumber goes about connecting a female compression fitting to a foam insulated HW cylinder? I've got the feed and return pipes for the coil on the HW cylinder connected to the cylinder using 22mmx1" F comp fittings. The problem I'm having is that I can't...

    ball valves...

Oooh.. I missed all these posts - looks like the forum forgot to send me email alerts. Aye that photo is spot on what I've got. Ok my description was a bit vague not knowing the terminology and all, but I went back after all the advice and turned the spindles a quarter turn - and the system...

Don't listen to him Softus... I reckon it was a superb and deserved rant. He had it coming ;)

    radiator bleed valve problem

Usual disclaimer - I'm not a plumber. I've had a similar problem on one of our old rads - I got some pliers and unscrewed the screw from inside the bleed plug completely, and replaced the screw with a new one from a brass air vent fitting from B&Q. The system was filled, so there was a bit of...

I was going to mention this, but didn't want to sound like a pedant ;)

    ball valves...

Cheers for the reply softus. Ok so I'm not being so stupid then. Yes it sounds similar to what you described, it's a little piece of metal about 1cm high - it's not got a square on the end, though. I tried turning it anti-clockwise to open, but it didn't go. I thought there might be some...

    ball valves...

Dead simple one this (i hope) - I replaced our pump and valves because the pump was dead and the valves were peeing out water. Replaced the valves with pegler ball valves. How do you open a ball valve? They have a little tap-like thing on them, but i can't turn them...? The tap is...

    Gas/Heating Regulations

Supply and demand, innit? If he was the only man in the world who could do something that people needed - he could happily charge thousands for a days work. That's why it costs 50p for a little mars bar at the petrol station - who else you going to go to at 2am when you've got the munchies? :)

    internal reducers... err?

Cheers for being so specific - but your description doesn't quite match the item I've got. As far as I can see there is only one part to this reducer (which sounds like the two parts you described, but in one.) It works fine inside a straight 28x28 - I'm doing exactly what you're saying...
