    Tried this as well, but doesn't make a difference to the upstairs rads. When all downstairs rads are turned off, the boiler does not fire up, however the pump still pumps. Only way to get the boiler to fire up again is to turn at least one of the downstairs rads back on again. And yes all...

    Hi and sorry for the late reply. Our landlord sent a plumber round to fix the problem. But it is not fixed. The rushing sounds in the pipes and the banging in the boiler have been fixed, and now we have one radiator upstairs that gets warm (not hot), this is the rad nearest the hot water...
