    The joists are 6x2, the notches are all 2.5" - 3" deep. I'm wondering whether it's better to remove all the pipe, get the builder to send it out through the external wall? The notches at the ends of one of the joists is cut all the way to the end (as in, not a U cut), so no brace is possible...
