Is the new whistling sound something a dodgy diverter or plate heat exchanger would cause?

Had a gas engineer round before and they said it was the plate heat exchanger. The eBay diverter's pin is definitely not reaching high enough so I'm happy to give a diverter from a local trustworthy supplier a try, but otherwise getting another professional in sounds sensible

It cuts out around 50C-60C (as hot as it can get in 30 seconds). Diverter was from a place on eBay who are happy to take it back when I explained the issue, so have ordered one from a reputable place nearby to collect and will see if that helps.

It flashes but only for a few seconds

Pump is running and sounds fine. Getting a warning light on fan for about two seconds after boiler shuts off, and then the light disappears as the boiler fires up again.

I haven't, will try that thank you. But removing the big screw on the pump means a lot of water comes out and the PCB would be in the water's path so I'm being extremely cautious and isolating and draining boiler first before removing the screw so it's only a trickle that my towel can handle...

Thanks both - the new seals did stick out a little, and so sorted it. Didn't have any silicone grease but will pick some up the next time I'm in Screwfix

It's why it's not making a tight seal that I'm struggling with. The screws are in as before, the seals are in the hydraulic inlet as before. The seals don't stick out of the hydraulic inlet, so the heat exchanger is just sitting flat against it. I will try and see if the new seals stick out a...
