Which size allen key bolt do I need?

I've ordered the M5. There's no hurry, as I only noticed the bolts (not screws - they go into metal, threaded sockets) were missing today after using the chair for years. I've had an education in bolts today, for which I am grateful to the various commenters here.

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

I'll have to look hard for local stores, as all the hardware shops long since closed down. There might be somewhere.

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

Local hardware store? Sadly, they no longer exist. My town here in north-east England had perhaps four or five when I was young in the 70s. None remains, the last being the Wilko chain that infamously went bust a couple of years ago. Anyway, I'm fairly sure it's an M5 20mm, so I'll order those.

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

I have the key and two bolts. I need two more bolts but the sizing chart is confusing me.

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

M5 20mm was what I thought, only for me to become confused when I read the chart on the Kay's ebay site. So I'll get those (there'll be trouble if they don't fit!) Thank you.

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

OK. Which M number is that?

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

Ummm... even more confused. I have the correct Allen key for the bolt. The key has inscribed on it CR-V 5mm. So which bolt is that for, as in which M number is it?

Which size allen key bolt do I need?

I need to buy some Allen key-headed (hex I think they're also called) bolts to replace some that are missing from a chair. I already have two the right size in the chair, but I'm confused by what size that is when I look online to buy them. The correct Allen key is labelled CR-V 5mm; the bolt...

Why has my water use almost doubled?

I live in a small flat here in the UK with a water meter outside it. Since 2022, my average daily water use has increased from around 55l to nearly 100l, the trend accelerating recently. Over that period I made serious efforts to reduce my water use. Fearing a leak, I checked the meter overnight...

    Marks on party wall

It appears from the party wall itself, in a position covered by an unused electric heater attached to the wall, that there is a long-ago blocked vent that might have originally been for a gas fire and which I can only assume connects through the roof space to one of the four rectangular objects...

    Marks on party wall

The damaged plaster is on the ground floor front room (the one with the large window) in the centre of the party wall. It is not visible outside and has no connection with the sloping-roof porch. It is from about halfway up the wall to the ceiling. The floor is MDF, not solid. There does seem to...

    Marks on party wall

I'm unsure. The photo attached shows my ground-floor flat. My party wall, which is where the problem lies, is perhaps a little to the right of the TV aerial (I share the sloping-roof porch with the flat to the right).I see on the apex of the roof what could be four vents for gas appliances...

    Marks on party wall

Thanks for that advice. I can see no other evidence of this internally or externally, so it seems to be the plaster.

    Marks on party wall

I live in a privately rented ground floor flat, part of a small block of two-storey flats. Over the last few years, one part of my living room party wall has developed what look like cracks. Can anyone diagnose what could be causing these? Damp, minor subsidence? Is it likely to be serious? Each...

Refitting a roller blind: solved with a bit of card.

Success! I pushed a bit of card into the tube with the plastic fitting with the chain and it's much tighter. Blind rolls down and up. Simple! And not a penny spent.
