Can only speculate on that. The insurance outsourced it to a third party claims handler who outsourced it to a local firm. So could even be an issue at the local end. They might get paid their call out fee regardless and could be charging inflated prices for the parts in case it actually gets...

Update - 50% sucess. Pushed the bulb in and generous amount of wd40 sprayed in the crevices from the bottom and from the inside where the bulb sits. This managed to work on one of the fittings with a good hammer on a screwdriver wrapped with tape after a few days. Previous attempt without...

I've been replacing bulbs in my downlights and some of them are siezed closed, will not turn to pop out. I had good luck with a squirt of wd40 in the gap for some of them but the last two are being stubborn bar stewards. Any ideas on how to loosen them open? Photo of one in case that helps...
