    Toilet Seals

If I do remove the toilet, I would definitely replace those two as I believe they are silicone and tend to develop a 'memory.'

    Toilet Seals

Thank you; pretty much what I think. It is all clean and tidy behind the bowl so no reason to expect the seal has become crumbly.

    Toilet Seals

As the seal is part of the junction at the very right of the photo, with the toilet in, downpipe and the vent from the top, there is no way that it can be easily removed or replaced. Hence my question, can the seal be replaced?

    Toilet Seals

What ho one and all, I am trying to fish a CAT6 cable from the loft to the g/f office space and the routing will be down a vertical sewer pipe boxing in a cupboard below. The issue is from the f/f toilet, I need to go around 1 meter horizontally through three posi-joists and the entire space...

    FTTP and ethernet

Magnets are a non-starter since the Posi-joists have metal webbing.

    FTTP and ethernet

It would be so much safer if Open Reach could work from home! Am receiving text messages telling me that I have a provisional appointment for an OR engineer to visit to check what work is necessary before they come to connect the FTTP to FTTH, a distance for around 30m. Apparently, the...

    FTTP and ethernet

Forgot to mention that the EE guy told me that Openreach will not work in the loft unless they have had special H&S training, and not all have. But of course, it is ok to work up a ladder at 9m. I know they don't know how my loft is but for the sake of clarity under this thread, here is a...

    FTTP and ethernet

Again, thanks for the response. While I am more than able to install the CAT6 cable and fish it through the boxing were the sewer pipe drops down, I assume this is a brush plate? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ethernet-Keystone-Voltage-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B0CZS95T4R?th=1 or this...

    FTTP and ethernet

Thanks. Tend to think you are correct. May be best to get a regular CAT6 euro module and cut the final plug off the cable.

    FTTP and ethernet

What ho one and all, My Plusnet contract is coming to an end so am moving to EE because they can provide a VOip service. My house does not have CAT6 installed and I want the FTTH box (currently only FTTP) in the loft (where the current line is located) Intend to run a CAT6 from there to the...

    Reson8 strobe

Yes, but my system only has seven PIR sensors plus an additional RKP in the garage. So not really too complex. Also added something that I should have installed when originally installed 15 years ago, an internal sound bomb. With a well insulated, tripe glazed house, once inside, it is close...

    Reson8 strobe

Thanks for the link. As it happens, I did buy a new (albeit now discontinued) Reson 8 bell box, installed it and it made no difference. So took a chance on a newish Accenta Gen 4 Mini from an eBay seller. Installed it went through all the resetting process and, with the original bell box, all...

    Setting Accenta Gen4 Mini zones

Thanks, I do in fact have the engineer manual; it is just my lack of understanding. I thought I had posted again earlier to say that I have done it but somehow, that post got lost in the internet. I was setting it fundamentally incorrectly. Following the above instructions with three presses...

    Setting Accenta Gen4 Mini zones

Compliments of the season one and all, Having just replaced an Accenta Gen4 Mini, I am now trying to set it up within engineer mode. As a non-alarm expert (ie, alarm numpty!), I do find the language in the engineer manual to be confusing, but.... Have everything set, zone names, exit...
