Here are some photos, I’ve not changed a thing since it worked, other than the thermostat upstairs.

The heating comes on with the nest, but that is just for the rads upstairs, the underfloor heating is separate and all we have downstairs, and not coming on, I thought fixing the main thermostat might fix the problem, but it hasn’t.

The problem is that it’s stopped coming on, and I think it’s about since I originally changed the thermostat, even though they shouldn’t be linked, it’s very weird.

Hi Ian, I’ve fitted the nest e, thanks for the recommendation, it’s great. Another question you might be able answer, I’ve got underfloor heating downstairs, each room is on a separate thermostat, should it only work when the heating has been started by the conventional (now nest e) schedule/timer?

Thank you so much. I used to have a hive and liked it, but the nest will give more functionality than a straightforward battery operated thermostat, so I’ll give it a go.

Are you saying that with the 2 wires I have currently available, the Nest E will work for me?

Yes that’s right, replaced the Honeywell. if the grey is neutral, how can it be used, and how can I confirm it, or will it be easier to get a different thermostat altogether? the reason I wanted this type of thermostat was because we have AC in the same room, so the heating kept coming on, but...

No, the salus is in replacement of the old battery one. There is an additional grey wire in the hole, that wasn’t connected before, so I need to use that for anything?
