    There was some black mould on the internal side of that wall. I wasn't sure if it was from an external issue related to the state of the render and brick work on the outside. I guess i will fix the outside as you suggest and then make good the inside and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks, sorry if it was a silly question. Reading through similar posts made me a little paranoid about it. So it will be fine to just repoint any brick work, fill the small cracks and build up the bits of missing render?

    Hi, newbie here looking for a kindly soul to offer some help. 1950's house. I believe it is cavity wall. Brick outside, concrete inside, no plaster, 270mm thick with external concrete? cladding. The cladding seems to stop in front of the dpc with the bricks below covered in some old black...
