Hi.
I have a triple coil cylinder onto a systemlink.
From the systemlink there is the DHW feed to the cylinder.
At the bottom of the cylinder is the ECO/Solar coil.
I want to pipe the DHW supply through the ECO and DHW coils to make
maximum use of the heat output.
Would it be best to pipe...
I have a Aquatak 1200.
When I bought it, you would not dare put your hand in front of the lance.
Now I can put my hand 6 inches from the nozzle when it's on wide spray.
The wide spray is only an inch wide so it's not like it's a huge dispersion of the pressure.
When I first got it there was...
The alteration is only to the pumped circuit, nothing is being touched on the gravity.
The gravity is working very well and I have already tested it with the power off and the fire high.
Thanks guys.
If we do it in paralell:
-> existing DHW coil will offer the same resistance as it does now.
-> solar coil is slightly smaller in coil length but will only take what circulation in that it's design will allow and not impeed the DHW coil above it?
If we do it in series:
will...
Diagram shows 3 coils (not 2 - agile)
excluding the heat leak rad and solar setup - it's exactly as shown..
so anyway - are we agreed on replumbing it in paralell?
Howdy,
I have a triplecoil cylinder that has a gravity circuit and a pumped circuit from a solid fuel stove, both of which are working nicely and well thanks to advice in a previoius post.
The third coil at the bottom is for solar, which is sitting doing nothing as solar panel = money...
Thanks to the advice of some, moving the vent pipe to the gravity circuit got everything flying along. Dramatic increase in the time the cylinder takes to heat up. Probably 20 minutes quicker with the correct flow taking place.
That helps a bit. Tank is in the attic where it always was. The feed to the cylinder is 3/4" and the feed out is 3/4" in the immediate run. What it does after that is guesswork. I think it is down to 1/2" quickly after leaving the hot press. The head pressure is fine, given the height but the...
Sister got a load of work done. Plumber was a muppet. Cylinder was left downstairs and 2 new Mira thermostatic pumped showers put upstairs. Of course the pressure from the cylinder is barely enought to get the water upstairs and to the other side of the extension.
Would anyone advise on adding...
Yes - cylinder is well vented, comes off the cylinder and across the attic and goes right to the top of the roof and back to the expansion tank, all in 1"
