This was done by the plumber when he finally commissioned the system but it had been filled up for about 4 months without inhibitor.
Would this be enough time to cause this problem due to sludge?
I guess what im getting at is the system leaking or not. From what your saying, air...
Hi Guys,
I've got a new boiler and central heating system (about a year old) which may have a problem.
I had to remove the towel rail about 6 months ago to fit a new heating element as the old one had blown. I then did the following as instructed by the plumber:
re fitted the towel rail...
I have done the above and have connected terminal 3 on the boiler to the L next to the N and the A in the relay is linked to the L next to it as shown in the diag.
The relay appears to be doing what it should with the green led going on and off but the boiler doesnt fire.
Is there anything...
sorry, i didnt make that very clear. I said I'm the spark as in i will be doing the electrical work as i have done with the rest of the electrical install (a 2 bed flat). I didnt mean i was and qualified electrician.
Before anyone asks, all the electrical work iv done as been tested and...
I'm not a spark, just a DIYer.
Although i dont own a tester my dad has one which i use but its not available at the moment.
Anyway back to the original question. If you look at the 4 diags for the relay it shows a connection between an L and A which looks like it is inside the relay...
I only have the diags that i posted pictures of to go on and they do show a connection between the 2 in each one.
I guess iv answered my own question as either will do since they're connected in the device itself?
Cheers for the replies guys.
Just to confirm, i must remove the bridge between 3 and 4 on the boiler as it says?
Also, would it be ok for the relay to get its power from the L and N terminals inside the boiler, marked as Mains Supply: 230 V/50 Hz?
I ask because its going to be difficult...
I was told at the time that this is a job for the spark which in this case is me. If this should have been done by the plumber then its to late now.
The boiler could still be operated through its controls so the fitting being complete would appear resonable to me.
Either way I'm doing it...
