Many Thanks Leccy758, I hadn't realised a separate element was used when the fan was on, but it does make sense. I'll take the oven apart in a few days time when I'm off work and do a continuity check on the element. - Hope I've posted this ok, it's the first time I've tried it!

Convection oven will heat normally to the set temperature but when fan/ventilated oven is selected then temperature will not increase beyond about 80 degrees. I don't have a circuit diagram and I'm not sure if separate sensors/thermostats/controllers are use for each selected mode of operation...
