Duplicate cut and paste Q posted on MSE forums... with more responses... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6650858/economy7-clock-wrong May not be worth duplication of effort?

    New TV Aerial

Quote the numbers given by the set for Signal and Quality on each of the multiplex frequencies received by the Hisense and the LG... Then move them to the 'other location' and repeat to see if the sets behave differently or the same. Repeat measurements with the amp in current and the closer...

Carbon Monoxide Alarm XC70 renewing the battery?

Reading between the lines I suspect it is the "House Storage Batteries" Eric is referring to. Which one would hope have sufficient safety cutouts in the BMS to prevent them catching fire in normal use.

    New TV Aerial

Webro WF100 or Triax TX100: i.e. copper core, copper foil, copper braid foam filled stuff. The original CT100 was air spaced (bad for water tracking into receivers) and name has been used for some pretty suspect cable by other makers - copper clad steel or aluminium, plastic foils - yuk!! At a...

Carbon Monoxide Alarm XC70 renewing the battery?

Eric knows best. Welsh Govt CONSULTATION was wanting them as balanced flues can fail / be installed poorly regardless... and in all homes not just rentals... and all fuel types... No idea if that consultation has closed and the result in changing any BR laws in that foreign country... Eric...

What voltage should I recharge my battery at

How are you using this Leisure battery and in / on what? Is it connected to anything or not?

What voltage should I recharge my battery at

That's rather high and suggests it's been on a charger of some sort --- smart, vehicle alternator? How are you using this Leisure battery and in / on what? They were wrong. That's 100% soc at 26.7 Celsius when measured with no load (open circuit) and any surface charge higher Voltage from...

What voltage should I recharge my battery at

LION is the battery brand not the chemistry - as you'd know if you'd followed the link. It's also a LEISURE flooded wet maintenance free Ca/Ca type. No they've been around for donkeys years (1930s Australia) long before lithium battery technology. Not the best reputation for quality though ;)...

What voltage should I recharge my battery at

If using as a Leisure / RV battery for off grid 12V services and then taking in to a building for recharging (using a suitable smart charger) the 'rule of thumb' is to NEVER discharge below 50% State of Charge for longevity. For that maintenance free Ca/Ca lead acid construction: Open...

Has the boiler fitter bypassed our water softener???

https://www.worcester-bosch.co.uk/professional/support/literature/greenstar-4000-combi-installation-manual page 12 Mentions that artificially softened (ion exchange) water must not be used to fill the central heating circuit - that with inhibitor in. {Much as my hot tub says to fill with tap...

Has the boiler fitter bypassed our water softener???

Brass stop tap if fully open is allowing mains water to by-pass rather than push the water through the softener. Close it to ensure softener works? It's there to allow the softener to be isolated for repair / maintenance purposes but still allow the house to have water to use. What make and...

    Smart meter home display question

@davecooper I missed that you are in Cumbria and therefore may be in one of the known Arqiva Long Range Radio marginal / no reception spots. I'd urge you to speak to Octopus about getting your Comms unit swapped to a mobile phone version (without or with additional antenna)... as shown in the...

    Smart meter home display question

Suppliers get the smart meter readings via the DCC who receive the data via mobile phone or long range radio (South vs North/Scotland). One can sign up to Bright or similar apps to get the same data pulled from the DCC... That'll quickly prove if the smart meter Comms unit is talking to DCC...
