Upvc door not latching when closed

Yeah I've been messing with it, so was still loose. Height wise, yeah, it's lined up. It's like it's too far towards the hinge side, not far enough to the receiver, but I've would the hinges across until there's only 1-2 mm gap now as door closes of it would hit frame. Still doesn't latch.

Upvc door not latching when closed

I've fitted a new door recently, that I can't get to latch when pushed shut. It just bounces back open. I've fitted doors before, without issue. Can't understand what Im doing wrong here. It feels like the spring loaded latch part, just isn't catching the striker / receiver part enough. Like it...

    Guttering / Possible drain leak

Hi, Should have said, it's a 1930s solid brick, don't think it was council built. Basing that purely on its got baby windows etc, other nearby council ones were typical 4 square windows like I grew up in. I've got a little camera endoscope thing. But not sure it's going to help much, as dont...

    Guttering / Possible drain leak

So rear of my house has a shared downpipe, drain is in my side. Have a pipe concreted in the corner of my patio, that the downpipe connects to. I can't see down it, but I think it's got some kind of trap down there. As I can't get further than a certain point. And the water never drains fully...

Stack Bond / Single block stack

I know stretcher bond is the usual. Lets suppose im narrowing an opening, using block. And lets suppose its perfectly 440mm. Using a wall starter to tie in. Is there any difference laying the blocks stack bond vs cutting alternating courses to lay stretcher bond? There wouldn't be a single...

Understanding Beam Calcs / Padstone Support

Thanks for the reply. Your picture is pretty much what I have. Only issue the 'return' isnt 300 wide. Its a single brick. Excuse the awful drawing, im on my phone. Black is current walls, red is beam, yellow is padstones. I cant fit the one on the pier width ways as a single brick. But im not...

Understanding Beam Calcs / Padstone Support

Hi, Hoping someone can help decipher these calcs for me. This is purely for the 'Beam Design' portions. Not the 'Chimney' stuff. My query relates to the supporting the beam on the existing walls. Ive included the entire thing incase. But the chimney has been done. I understand the padstones...

    Junior 28i Issues after work

From this tube poking upwards, which is what the manual lists under filling procedure. Vent tube from heat exchanger it lists it as. Ensuring its pointed away from electrics (I put the tube into a bottle) You can close the water flow from this tube, then there's a positive click as the...

    Junior 28i Issues after work

Yeah, it faults again. This morning, I switched spur on, reset it. It fired. Then faulted. If left, the fan stops after a while. And it just sits in what I assume is lockout, the red flashing, blue flashing. I will get an rgi out in the week, I just wanted to check my other work was ok. And...

    Junior 28i Issues after work

AGAS, the blue light is on flashes off. Slowly. The red light is flashing slowly. Once per second roughly. Manual says Flue overheat, Heat exchanger overheat, flue blockage. It hasn't been on long enough to overheat anything? I filled it the other night, tried water and heating. Been...

    Junior 28i Issues after work

Yep, handle is on, in line position. This morning, boiler fired, green light on. Fan slowed to a reasonable speed. After a couple of minutes, it faulted, red light on, fan going nuts. Is this some kind of failsafe, the fan going nuts, to protect it from damaging itself?

    Junior 28i Issues after work

Jesus. Let's just stop all diy. I get safety. I'm in a trade myself. But it's a diy forum, maybe it's only for posts about Nest and Hive? If we apply this logic to everything, no one would ever do anything themselves. Change a wheel on your car? What about the poor mechanic, who last worked on...

    Junior 28i Issues after work

Sorry missed your reply somehow. That's how the manual describes the fault lights. As for bleeding, no air came out the boiler. I bled about 500 ml of water, no air. Upstairs rads had loads of air. Bled until they stopped hissing, and water came out. Downstairs rads were fine.

    Junior 28i Issues after work

Thanks, I'll check this today. I did check the hot water the day we got keys. And it did fire yesterday , with the green flame light on for 5-10 mins. I'm guessing this couldn't have just been the residual gas in the pipework? But I'll check as you suggest. How else could I bleed the boiler? I...
