    3/4 bsp lockshield valve.

It's like this surely you need some kind of sealant rather than just a metal to metal joint?

    3/4 bsp lockshield valve.

Advice please. I'm replacing a radiator in the bathroom. The trv is a 15mm compression fitting to the radiator tail whereas the lockshield side is a 3/4 bsp union fitting joint. Would a smear of plumbers gold on the faces of the connection create a decent seal. Thanks in anticipation.

    Rendering driveway wall.

Apologies, one other question. On previous projects i've used 6 to 1 of lime 1 of cement. Using a mix of 4 to 1 means dispense with lime?

    Rendering driveway wall.

No, any rainwater will fall towards the other side of the wall, in fact when it rains heavily the water collects for some time on the neighbours side at some points.

    Rendering driveway wall.

I'm planning to render the driveway wall down the side of the house. The path down the side of the house next door is concrete and because we're on a hill it is about 18" to 24" higher on the other side of the wall. Before rendering is it a good idea to give the wall a couple of coats of Ka...

    Baxi 105he

Thanks all. Is it an easy fix i'm pretty handy but my plumber / gas man can't come until the middle of Feb and i'm a bit bothered about it getting worse. He's going to give the old thing the once over (it's not been looked at for 12 years) doesn't time fly.

I have a leak from the diverter manifold area of my Baxi boiler. I replaced the diaphragm 2 or 3 years ago because it was leaking from the pushrod by the microswitch bracket and all was well. The leak is now coming from behind the differential valve at the front of the diverter manifold...

    Ridge and hip tiles.

I haven't paid the last instalment for the job yet and am considering wether to withold the payment until they're properly bedded on sand and cement. If this is not the correct way of doing it, it must have been to save time because using foam would be more expensive than sand and cement?

    Ridge and hip tiles.

I've just had a new roof the tiles being the flat Grampian variety. One thing I'm not sure about is the fatc that the roofer has fixed the ridge and hip tiles using expanding foam. He says he will trim the foam and point the tiles at a later date with cement. Is this normal practice or just a...
