Thanks Woody. I called them and explained that I'd had some minor roof repairs and they just noted it down and never got back to me. I'm having a loft conversion done soon, so they will presumably cast their eyes over the state of the roof then.

Hi, I've had a letter through from building control stating that a neighbour has informed them I'm having work done without prior notice. I had the roof re-felted and the old tiles were re-used. I'm not a tradesman and the roofer didn't mention anything about building control notice but...

Additionally, my current plan is to only insulate my external walls (internally) and my ground floor as it's suspended timber. Will this benefit my enough to bother doing or is all this retained heat going to go through the party walls into next door?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but guessing the plasterers will have an idea of what to do. I need to insulate the exterior walls internally but it's a double skinned, solid brick wall (Victorian mid-terrace). These walls have been damp in the past so I don't want to take any risks...

Just to update, I had several other roofers come to take a look. None of them got back to me, presumably because they wouldn't make enough money on it? One estimated £1400 with a further £500 max if there are unforeseen problems. This price was minus the scaffold which I've arranged for £450...
