I don't mind the initial outside noise which is the sea and wind. I mind what it is turned into - some kind of dull, lower pitched reverberation due to sound bouncing around the room. I am not even sure if this sound is due to reverberations. Maybe I could put some kind of acoustic foam on...
If an extra pane of glass is put in with a large gap between it and the other panes, that should reduce the external noise. However, if trickle vents are put in for ventilation, some noise will get in as well.
