There are only 2 wires at the switch, red and black(plus earth)! I tried wiring through this and the result is that the fan only works when the light is off!!! DOH!

I wish to install a pull cord extractor fan in my bathroom. It has L and N connections only. Can I wire this directly from the pull cord switch that operates the bathroom light? Thanks.
