This is true, and nothing has changed, so the element sounds more likely. What do people recommend as a good brand of oven, I am probably looking at getting a double built under oven (electric). Or should I ask what are reknown for being reliable? Thanks for you replies, by the way.

So if I use the oven without any other appliances on the circuit running, it is the element? Right? If the element is shorting against the body why does it not continually do it?
