    Thanks for your reply. The fan will be at the shower end of the bath in zone 1. Is 240v ok in that position? The size of the room, and position of the windows means I have no choice re location of bath, shower and fan unfortunately.

    Thank you both for your advice. I haven’t deepened the void as the ceiling is not that high as it is, but I am going to use celotex instead of Rockwool. Thank you especially for the point re the membrane. I am going to use the foil backed plaster board as that sounds nice and easy.
