Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Thanks Tony, No, I wasn't thinking of buying the boiler myself, just specifying which boiler I wanted so I don't get something unreliable. O f those 3 you mention, which is your preference? I've only heard of Vaillant.

Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Thanks for the reply Tony, I haven't been able to price a boiler yet, not sure which model I'd need. Anybody know off top of head price of a Worcester big enough for the description given above?

Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Really looking like time to start saving for a new boiler, this one being 22 years old. To be fair it hasn't given much bother over all those years, 2 thermocouples & an electrical connection that Baz identified. How much ££££'s is a fair price for a fitted similar power boiler to heat a 1950's...

Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Never thought of it as the gas side, many DIY stores sell thermocouples. http://www.diy.com/departments/plumbing/central-heating/central-heating-fittings/thermocouples/DIY768529.cat Checked past threads on this forum, didn't seem to be an issue...

Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Ok problem sorted, my chum who used to work on council c/h sorted it. Problem was the cutout switch that connect to the bottom of the thermocouple. I only swapped the thermocouple, wouldn't dream of touching the gas side. Regards Russ

Pilot light fault Glowworm Swiftflow 100

Hello, can anybody please help, -5c here, typical of boilers. For the past week the boiler has been going out, I relit it ok. Last night it would not re-light. I had bought a spare thermocouple so fitted that this morning. Same problem, I press the bypass & ignitor, it lights up fine, as soon...

Double glazed window leak at internal bead

By 'eck Ronnie, I thought this might be an easy fix, like poking a bit of wire up the drain holes from outside. Now, the job's grown, do the seal strips come out easy? I don't want to be breaking that new glass unit. Can't really blame the guys who fitted the new glass to the frame, it's...

Double glazed window leak at internal bead

Thanks for the reply Ronnie, I've now got a pic with my pen pointing at the leak which is same place both sides. When my Man-Flu, the lashing rain & the hoolie that's blowing out there subsides I'll get up the ladder & check out the drainage holes.

Double glazed window leak at internal bead

Hi Aron, Thanks for the reply. Yes, plastic window, seals look in good condition, all I can see is a weep at each bottom corner of the internal beads where the vertical bead meets the horizontal.

Double glazed window leak at internal bead

Hello, we had the glass replaced in this window frame some 8-9 months ago, had plenty of rain since but just this morning with heavy driving rain on this window, there are serious leaks at both corners where the internal glass seals meet. Two big puddles on the window ledge. This is an...

That plan seems to have worked ok. I've sent the missus up to re-paint the job. Thanks to all for your help.

Windows - Damp after removing side strips & plastering

I've gone with this plan. I siliconed the new dpc to the frame & the existing vertical dpc. The foam can does say it doesn't bond to silicone but there's enough other stuff for it to stick to (hopefully). I shall post later to let you know if it's been successful, have to wait until I've...
