So I can build a pitched roof off a standard. 3x2 Stud ?

What is the regulation of a structural stud . I am aware it is a standard stud clad in ply wood but what thickness does the ply need to be ?

About 4.5 inches a side so 9 inches . Thinking may just floor it to make the best of my money n guarantee the return any1 think an estate agent would have the answer ?
