Having problems bleeding the system. The downstairs radiators are OK, but the upstairs ones don't seem to want to bleed. There's water in the bottom of the radiators, but none comes out of the bleed valve. There's hissing for a few seconds, then nothing...... :cry:

Did that, not much water came out. Should I do it with the pump running? How long should I wait? (I did it with it running....) Cheers.

Thanks.... Think I've come to the limit of my knowledge! Didn't take long! :D There's a motorised valve under the pump, this has 2 positions: Auto and Man. It's normally set to Auto and operated when the cental heating is on. Also, how do I bleed the pump? Sorry for being thick!

Header tank is OK, has water in and refill valve working fine! Thanks

Hello all, I've got a vented central heating system with a Baxi Solo boiler. It's been working well until I noticed that my upstairs radiators were cold at the top and hot at the bottom, so I bled them. Not much water came out though, and there was a lot of bubbling in the pipes, then the pump...
