    Fixing plasterboard near corner

I recently replaced a built-in wardrobe and whilst stripping out the stud wall that made up the old wardrobe I cut the plasterboard too far beyond the edge of the new wardrobe and now I have to repair it. I have a thin slither of plasterboard now missing along the whole edge of the wardrobe...

Creating stable foundations for garden room on a plateau

Thanks, I've seen those Easypads before - looks good. Only thing I'd be worried about is the location on top of the hill gets high winds, so I wonder whether the extra weight a thick concrete slab would offer would be worth it here for peace of mind. If the room lifts off the ground and rolls...

Creating stable foundations for garden room on a plateau

Thanks everyone! Indeed I planned to dig down to hit the clay, which in my garden at least isn't that far below the surface - at least elsewhere in the garden. The tree will be coming out most likely but I'll have to deal with the roots. What would you call too thin? I'm happy to make it thick...

Creating stable foundations for garden room on a plateau

I'd like to build a medium sized (let's say 4x3 m) room at the top of my garden where there's currently the wreck of a shed. The area is at the top of a slope. There's also a drainage ditch for the adjacent farm field on the other side so the area sits on a sort of plateau. I guess this is...

Daisy-chaining more than two consumer units

I'm planning to build a garden room at some point and I have a question about getting power to it. I'd have lighting and sockets plus potentially an electric sauna so it'd need a consumer unit to handle the different circuits. The most convenient place to get power would be from the garage...

Drainage for patio between retaining wall and garage wall

Do you mean for these to go against the garage wall? Can they drain into soil nearby or are you supposed to combine them with an enormous soakaway? Not 100% but it would seem very unlikely given the position relative to the house and street.

Drainage for patio between retaining wall and garage wall

I'm planning to put a patio in a small area of our garden that was a dumping ground for the previous owners. I've cleared it up and dug down a fair bit: The wall on the left is a retaining wall holding our sloped lawn up the hill and to the right is the back of our garage. In digging out the...
