Thanks London The CH and HW can work independantly however I have the programmer you suggest and the backplate is different i.e. I need a backplate which is square in shape and the pins stick out from the backplate and the female contacts are on the programmer, not the other way around...

Hello My sister in law' programmer has given up. The timing wheel has stopped working however you can still manually turn CH and HW on. I believe I can make a straight swap with a new one if the backplate is the same? Can some please identify the old programmer please and advise which new one...
