Hi all, so I had the opportunity today to purchase a honeywell 2 valve actuator. Fitted it and it works correctly thankfully. But what I have found is that when just the hot water is called the radiators are heating up. Arggh! To me it still appears that the valve does not turn to and from the...
Thanks for your help. So I've removed the new one and attached the old one. Even though the mechanism doesn't work it had a handy light on it and I found that this is working correctly. So light on when thermostat triggers heat and light off when it stops. So it's definately the actuator with...
It's corgi from toolstation
https://www.toolstation.com/corgi-replacement-actuator-for-motorised-valve/p38858
The instructions make no mention of white wire. I've posted a pic. But I've had white wires on a precious one in place of brown.
Ok. So I went and got a new actuator for the 3rd time. If this fails I will replace the valve. I've wired it up in exactly the same way as the one I've replaced. Only difference was a white wire instead of black. I have a problem. So the heating turns on fine but when the thermostat is turned...
I think so there's one below and the one above is above the pump I think but has no spindle. It's just a valve which is a bit stiff. I'll add a pic. There is a spindle from the cold feed though.
Yes they were spring return. I'll look at the momo type.
The spindle on the valve doesn't turn...
Ok so this is the third central heating actuator I've had to buy in 18 months. There's obviously something wrong with the valve.
Checking it out it looks like the valve isn't turning in the same direction as the actuator or at least the slot the valve fits into is not in the same direction. Am...
Ok great. Thanks for your help. I'll give this a go. I've going to buy a two gang light switch now I know it's possible so may be back to ask for help in wiring that up.
Thanks again.
Hi all. have a 3 gang light switch in my hallway that controls the
porch light
a wall light
and the downstairs and upstairs hall/ landing lights
I want to combine the porch and wall light into one switch therefore making it 2 gang. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.
Thankfully it wasn't used often (phew)!
I'm trying to figure out how best to use the hot water. We are a family of 4 and have 2 teenage daughters (you can see where I'm going here! ;))
At the moment the water tank is on a timer to heat in the morning and in the evening from the boiler. This...
I've just discovered there is a thermostat built in to the immersion (face palm) doh! That would make perfect sense.
It was set to over 90°C so turned it down to something more reasonable.
Thanks for the reply.
I have a system boiler and a hot water tank with a immersion heater.
At present we use the hot water via the boiler to warm the tank. On occasion I've had to put the emersion on, or my children have, and have forgotten to turn it off. Leaving it continually bubbling away.
What I want to know...
Came home today to find the hot water still heating despite when turned off or the thermostat kicking in. I gave in and made a trip to screwfix. I replaced the other actuator for hot water. Now all appears to work correctly now. Fingers crossed it stays like that.
Wish I'd opted for a combi!
I've not had any major issues during the last 24 hours. All seemed to be working correctly. During the
day the water worked correctly and the thermostat on the tank would cut it off correctly when it was at the correct temperature during the times that the hot water was set to be on. However, in...
