The overheat light is not lit..will this still point towards the overheat stat ?

Hi, Apologies for the lack of technical detail here. My Ravenheat combi 84ET failed to supply heat via central heating yesterday. I switched the boiler off at the mains then switched it back on after a couple of minutes and it appeared to be working ok - supply available through radiators...
