    Boiler Pressure Dropped

Hi I recently removed a radiator in my living room to decorate. I refitted it, bled it and topped up the boiler pressure. 2 weeks passed and the pressure had dropped below 1 bar and triggered an error code so the boiler wouldnt fire up. I checked everywhere and no leaks. I topped up the pressure...

    Cordyline Australis Wobbly

Hi, after recent winds I have noticed my Cordyline Australia is pretty wobbly if I move it by the trunk. It is only about 4ft tall and been in the ground for over a year. This happened last year so I just pushed it up right and compacted more soil around it. Since then it has grown a foot and...

    Garden Bark Blowing About

    Garden Bark Blowing About

Yep its frustrating. Looking at it, its not much lower than the grass height so maybe I need to deepen the border so there a bit of a step. Blackbirds are a nightmare, they chuck it all over the path then thats how it ends up blowing away. Maybe edging stones are an idea?

    Garden Bark Blowing About

Hi, I recently laid bark in my borders but, not thinking at the time, it has been blowing about onto the lawn, path, and neighbours drive. Not a lot, but enough to annoy me! Any suggestions how to help avoid this? I was thinking wet it with the hose and stamp it down? Thanks

    Grass Different Shades

Hi A few years ago I filled in a flower bed that was in the middle of my lawn & planted grass. It came through perfect but it seems to be a lighter shade of green compared to the rest. Can anyone recommend anything to make it all the same?

    Garden Furniture Covers

Has anyone got any good experiences with garden furniture covers? I have an L shaped rattan sofa and a 6 x 2 table with tuck in chairs so is an exact rectangle shape. I have spent god knows how much on various covers but they just blow off, rip, or both. Im at the point now of not bothering or...

    Whistly Lockshield Valve

Hi I recently had a combi boiler installed and have noticed that one radiator has a bit of a whistling lockshield valve. The TRV is so sensitive that if I move it by 1mm either side of number 3, the radiator is either on or off. If I turn the TRV down it will quiten the lockshield valve but gets...

    Noisy Toilet Fill Valve

Hi I have recently replaced my boiler from a gravity fed system to a combi. Now that all my water outlets are mains fed pressure, my toilet fill valve is now noisy. Although it only now takes less than 10 seconds to fill, it is annoyingly noisy. Any ideas?

    Bathroom Hot Taps Playing Up

Hi Ive never noticed this before in any other place Ive been with a combi. As said, the shower is fine but just the taps is the issue so the distance thing is not the issue. Bath is 22mm sink is 15mm. Kitchen tap also 15mm. Seems a bit weird. If I turn it full blast it goes warm, then cool ...

    Bathroom Hot Taps Playing Up

Hi We recently had our gravity fed system replaced with a combi in the garage. We are in a bungalow. I have noticed that the bath and bathroom sink hot tap, if you fully open it, doesnt get fully hot. It seems to go hot ish then cool then hot ish. If I turn it down to about half way, it gets...

    Exterior wall lights

Hi I would like to install exterior downlighters around the exterior wall of my garage to light up a pathway. Could I run them off the existing lighting circuit in the garage? The only issue I see there is they would only come on with the garage light, but could I wire in a separate switch just...

    Hot Water Cylinder Replacement

Okay thanks. Im just assuming the worst here, but is there any other reason it could be making a noise or is it maybe normal? Not entirely sure how long its been doing it, I just happened to notice the other day

    Hot Water Cylinder Replacement

Hi My wifes salon has a hot water cylinder in the staff room, presumably unvented as seems to be supplied from cold mains. There is no gas supply to the shop and no central heating, so everything is electric. Just recently we have noticed that the cylinder makes a noise when heating up so no...

    Combi Boiler Heating Flow Temperature

Hi I recently had a new combi boiler fitted. I replaced the old gravity fed standard boiler and cylinder. My old boiler used to be at about 58/60 degrees and would be fine. The boy who fitted the combi set it at 70 and set that would be fine. I noticed the radiators were extremely hot to touch...
