    If the plug pins looked new beforehand, then most likely the socket is worn internally and the connections are oxodised or burnt even, my advice would be to replace the socket. High power heaters can "warm" plugs but not so there anywhere near as hot as you describe!!!!!!!! - Stop using it...

    Maybe because the breaker is overloaded. 8500 watts/230volts = 36.956 amps! Or even at 8500 watts/240v= 35.41 amps! your breaker needs upgrading.

    Youve wired the double pole switch up wrong - youve wired the switch so it shorts live and neautral instead of live to live etc etc.

    It could be a few reasons, a loose wire is likely, but maybe a failing breaker which fails when the bathroom lights go on, or it may be a problem with the supply to the house.

    Why is it builders insist on fitting split load cu's with 30ma rcds (instead of 100ma) as standard to new-build houses, grrrrrrr really annoys me, a fly farts and the cu trips...

    mcb tripping

    It could still be a circuit on the rcd side - the mcbs only break the positive - the neutral and earths arnt broken by the mcb - so, say if a neutral touched an earth or visa versa - it would still trip the rcd - even with the mcb switched off!

    Just watch the power of some of those fans, you could be busy doing something and have your ears sucked off, then try explaining that to your insurance company!!!!
