I have a replacement energy regulator for my hob which is supposed to be compatible, however when it arrived the terminals are different. I have however got a wiring sheet, but I don't totalls understand it!
The existing wiring was straightforward on the "STRIX" regulator:
Red -> "P1"
Black...

Same here - I'm waiting for a response from their spares website. Problem is I can't wait too long, as we have to get a tap in there, so it's looking more and more like I'll have to buy another if they haven't got back by the end of the week. :(
It actually provides the seal on a little plunger... this photo shows the innards of the tap, and you can see two little plastic plungers which are pressed down as the tap is turned on, the o-ring goes around the bottom of the plunger so when the tap is off, the spring forces the plunger up, and...
I have - the size appears to be non-standard as it does not fit the size of any of the BS/ISO o-ring sizes I've been able to find.
It's the internal diameter that's the problem... nothing comes close to an internal diameter of 2.5mm, with a cross section of 3mm (or nothing that I've found)...

It seems an awful (and expensive) waste to have to replace the entire tap, for the want of two tiny rubber o-rings! :(
