Marantec garage door remote fault - LED won't stay on

Hi, I don't think the controller is in an error state, because I can open and close the door using the controller by pressing its plus and minus buttons. I think it's the way that the door is fitted that prevents me from manually closing it all the way. I am next going to try to remove the...

Marantec garage door remote fault - LED won't stay on

I have bought two new remote controls from Ebay, designed to replace the Marantec D302 868MHz ones, but I've tried the programming procedure on page 17 of this manual (my garage door opener is a Marantec Comfort 220.2) https://www.marantec.com/files/eba_sap/F/83988.pdf but light no.7 doesn't...

Marantec garage door remote fault - LED won't stay on

Yes, I checked the batteries with a multimeter, and tried new ones too, definitely 3V coming out of them. CR2032s don't normally come with a sticker, I hadn't heard of that before, to stop children from eating them. Mine are all in blister packs.

Marantec garage door remote fault - LED won't stay on

Mine doesn't appear to have a sensor bar on the bottom of the door, and I don't think it's anything to do with any of the mechanism in the garage itself, because the LED used to stay on for as long as I held the button down, even when I was nowhere near the garage, i.e. in my house. Or does the...

Marantec garage door remote fault - LED won't stay on

I have an electric garage door which uses a Marantec 302 868Mhz remote control, but the remote controls (I have two) have both stopped working, and both have the same problem - when I press either button on the remotes, the LED flashes for a fraction of a second, and goes off. Previously, when...

Ceramic tap valve leaking - missing O ring?

I was thinking of putting a length of copper wire in behind the nylon spacer, instead of a rubber O ring. When the nylon spacer eventually wears away completely, I would just add a few more turns of copper, enough to keep the shaft from going too far to the right (in the photos above). HertsP&D...

Ceramic tap valve leaking - missing O ring?

I thought that the nylon spacer must have worn down, because the taps didn't leak for years when I first bought them. So I can't buy a replacement nylon spacer? I have to throw the entire cartridge away? After all, the nylon spacer only has to sit against the lip to the left of it, so if I...

Ceramic tap valve leaking - missing O ring?

I have a leaking ceramic tap valve (a common problem here I expect). I noticed that the tap shaft felt loose, and the part where the circlip goes wasn't right next to the part where the shaft enters the body of the cartridge, so I dismantled the valve and found that there was a white washer of...

35cm wide flat boards along inside of ridge - is this normal?

Hi Woody, I don't know if the ply was stiffening the gable apex. The top piece of ply is still there, it hadn't gone rotten. I am hoping to get the whole roof redone (new felt and battens) some time next year, I presume all the battens going across will help stiffen the lower part?

Miele Washing Machine heater element spade connector burnt off

Hi Diver Fred, if you look at the second photo, the right hand spade connector is the same as the burnt one was - I don't think either had an insulating sleeve on them. I did put the spade connector on correctly the last time, but I can't guarantee it was as tight as it might have been, from...

Miele Washing Machine heater element spade connector burnt off

Thank you both very much for your help. I have cut off the burnt wire, back to copper wire, and soldered on a new wire, put on a spade connector and put some solder on that too (I use flux to ensure the solder sticks well), and I'm about to put it all back together, I will let you know if it...

Miele Washing Machine heater element spade connector burnt off

My Miele W3204 washing machine stopped heating the water, so I took it apart and found the spade connector on the bottom of the machine, burnt off, and the cable connecting it to the heater element also burnt off. Does anybody know why this might have happened? The heater element was about a...

How many kW does electric shower use in Economy mode?

You need to buy an 'off grid' inverter, you can get them in the U.K. from Voltaconsolar.com, you will probably need two x 5kW inverters or one 10-11kW inverter. How big is your solar array?

35cm wide flat boards along inside of ridge - is this normal?

I don't think it's a timber framed house, there are two brick walls underneath the ply.

Why shouldn't you use Plumber's Mait with flush valves?

Madrab, I don't understand what you mean about it lubicrating the washer and making it mis-shapen - do you mean the washer can sort of slide out of position around the thread shank? I would much rather not use Plumber's Mait - I won't use it from now on, I just didn't realise because the note on...
