i noticed that when i set the heating to come on in the morning everything looks as though it is working except that the burners not burning and then the light on the burner is lit. i use the dial with the pins as a clock as opposed to the digital clock.
i replaced the pump and discovered that the old one was burned out in the electrical box. the burner will not start on its own now but will only start when you press the restart lit button on the burner.
i undid the central screw earlier and expected a jet of water to come out but there was only a trickle so thats what it looks like, the pump. thanks again.
how do i know if the pump is working, does it hum and vibrate slightly when working, because the pump is doing neither at the moment. btw what u say makes sense to me now. is it a case of replacing the pump. btw thank you for the advice.
i know how to service an oil burner out of necessity and how to remove one. yes other than that i know very little about plumbing ie flow and return etc.. and i find it strange that two radiators work in the house while the central heating doesnt. thats why im on this site looking help and advice.
yes all the pipes leading from and going to the boiler are hot. if the pump was gone or was stuck how would i know. after the burner cuts out,20 minutes or so later the reset light goes on and pressing it starts it going again, only to cut out again after 5 minutes. btw the radiator in the...
a riello 40 burning oil. it has two motorised valves. the pump is inside the house and yes the pipe going to the pump and after the pump are roasting hot.
dont know as i use immersion heater. turned up thermostat on the combustion chamber and at the minute its working fine. i hadnt moved the thermostat before it cut out though.
My oil burner a riello 40 comes on for 5 minutes then cuts out. i cleaned the filter bowl and bled the oil line plus checked the jet for a blockage. after trying all this, it fired up again but cut out again, any ideas.
