so does this mean that the valve in the picture is faulty and if so is it the motor that can be replaced or do I have to drain everything and replace the whole unit.

I understand what you mean but wont this only heat the water to a max of 30 degrees as that is as high as the central heating goes

I can open it manually via the lever

I have no means of checking the voltage.How about if I was to disconnect one the central heating valves and hard wire into the same ports as the hot water valve,switch on hot water and check to see if the central heating one fires up?

wiring at clock controller appears fine also oppened and checked 3 fused wall sockets and they too appear to be okay

says HONEYWELL MOTORISED VALVE small lever on base ..one side says auto other says main open

none. just a straight piece of pipe with this on the side.

its a valve on the water pipe heading into the hot tank..looks rectangular..attached to pipe electric cable coming out of it..

Baxi back boiler.central heating okay...have replaced clock programmer.have replaced thermostat on water tank.checked pump okay via central heating.checked burner okay via central heating.switch hot water on at programmer,red light comes on as normal.that is as far as it gets.have had no...
