    Have looked under bath, totally dry. Have taken tiles off behind sink and toilet again dry. The smell fills the room cannot pinpoint a particular place. begining to think if we take the whole place apart we will not find the source.

    Sealant is fine. Bathroom is dry. Totally baffled as one day its fine then the next it smells terrible. No smell in loft above or any other room.

    Just bought a second floor 5yrs old apartment. There is a smell in the bathroom - like a damp smell. Not a waste smell. A fully tiled bathroom, we have checked for leaks, there is no damp anywhere. The smell comes and goes! The apartments have had drainage problems and had a drain cleared...

    smell from fan

    Have checked all that was suggested, it is vented through an outside wall and there does not seen to be any dips although it goes a long way to the outside. Took the cover off the fan and is very clogged inside. Do you think buying a new unit will help.

    I have just bought a flat on the top floor, the bathroom is in the middle with no windows. The fan is ducted into the roof space but after the fan has been on for a few minutes there is a terrible smell of damp. What could this be.
