unfortunately is in a bad state. there are many different layers peeling so its very uneven and the missus wants it nice and smooth!

Gonna paint the concrete window sills around the house in the spring, but gonna start preping them now. will a heat gun remove the old paint? Ive tried scraping but its tough! or will i be better with a drill with wire brush attachment?

On a separate note, there are 2 newly wired switches beside the pump for the fire. one activates the pump and the other apparently does nothing! any ideas what it might do? i haven't tried tracing the wires yet, but can do if there are no ideas!

Just moved to a new house with an open fire and loving it. problem is the radiator in the sitting room has 2 lockshield valves and the rooms gets so hot when the fire is lit. Can i close one or both of the LS valves a bit to reduce the temp or will i have to get a themo valve fitted? im...
