Could someone please just advise re the current mechanical timer?

I've double checked compatability and it actually says in the boiler manual: The Remeha Avanta Plus can therefore be controlled directly by any other controls with the OpenTherm® logo

Thanks for the replies. Do I need to take out the mechanical timer from the boiler or can I just leave it connected and in the on position? Cheers
