Sorry to bump, but does anyone have one of these or know if the burner should VISIBLY increase in output with DHW speed, so that I have some idea whether there is a problem or not. I would assume that it should, but never saw it when it was working! The spec says that the output varies between...
This is probably another discussion topic because its a whole can of worms in itself, BUT I can not say enough that IF you intend to have a thermostatic mixer shower running off a combi at any point, and IF you want performance of the shower to approach what people would consider "power shower"...
Well, its probably the flow rate - there are a million posts asking questions about combis and flow rates on here ( including one from me ) and so it is really a common problem.
HOWEVER... if you have a flow rate adjuster on the shower itself, then in theory turning the flow down should help...
I think that you would also need a straight coupler before you could fit the end cap? Either that be it may be possible to leave the elbows on and fit the cap directly to the elbow ( though the thread may be different. )
Nope... ignore that - I was thinking of a different end cap!
If it's just a mixer shower, then normally it will have a hot and cold tap and so you could just adjust them until the flow rate is slow enough. A thermostatic mixer will generally have some way of adjusting the temperature, whether in combination with flow or as a separate control.
The...
I'm not an expert by any means, but I would suggest that if you plan to run a mixer shower off a combi then £1000 isn't enough! I would stick with an electric shower, or at a push use a system boiler ( though pressure for the shower can then be a problem. )
In my very limited experience to...
Just following up my own posts - I did some ( very inaccurate ) measurements. At roughly 9l/min, the rise at the tap is about 30 degrees. At around 13l/m, which is pretty much fully open, this drops to only 18 degrees. The spec says 35 at 10l/min, so given the inaccuracy of the readings it may...
My mother-in-law has a Turbomax 242e, about 11 years old ( green control knobs. ) The initial symptom that was noticed was that her shower began to run cold ( a thermostatic mixer job with a single flow/temp control. ) She has a service contract with Southern Electric, and at first they told her...
