    Roof Tiles Problem

Marley do make third rounds. There are hip trays but you can't see them because the larger half tiles used on the hip cover them up more than thirds would.

    Roof Tiles Problem

It's because he has used half rounds on the hip. Had he used thirds, which are available, these would have met the halves on the top ridge with less height difference to make up between them.

    Roof Tiles Problem

Hi everyone, I had an extension added to my house last year which has a hipped roof. The builder has used half rounds on the hip slopes instead of third rounds. Does this matter from a practical point of view? It means they finish lower along their sides and make contact to some extent with the...

    Should I keep this window?

Not from an enforcement point of view because, as I've explained, the unit isn't moving. It is an approved item that stays put. The outer skin of bricks is replaced in stages up to the position of the patio. One side, then the other, then underneath. There is no change as far as the door unit...

    Should I keep this window?

Same doesn't apply with the patio set as it will be left in situ for the job. My argument there will be that there hasn't been any change. The existing bricks will be replaced in stages around it. Up to each side and then underneath.

    Should I keep this window?

The window is on the darker side, facing north east and has another extension opposite. Also, the main door and window unit has a lot of glass - It is 2.5m wide.

    Should I keep this window?

Hello, I am having the outer skin replaced on an old extension. They used the wrong size and colour bricks, and the masonry is horrible. If I kept it as is, it would need a full repointing job doing on it, which wouldn't be cheap. And it'd still look ****. So my builder will be replacing...

    Drain Rat Guard

    Should I install a bus barrier? ;)

    Drain Rat Guard

I would rather install one of these before a rat comes into the house, rather than after.

    Drain Rat Guard

Anybody tried one of these? I don't have rats here as far as I know, but with three toilets in a bungalow, would like to put some kind of barrier where my drains go off into next door's side (I am at the top of the chain)...

    Water Main Conduit

Hi everyone, I'll be grateful for your advice. This house had an extension added to it and at that time, the opportunity was taken to upgrade the water main from 15mm copper to 25mm MDPE. This was laid around 700mm below the surface and enters the extension through a black conduit that goes...
