    Wiring up a 16A - 3.1kW oven

So let me get this clear. If I keep the 32a mcb I need to upgrade the oven flex to at least 4mm t&e. If I swap it for a 16a mcb, the 3 core 1.5mm will be fine?

    Wiring up a 16A - 3.1kW oven

But does that mean my oven won't be protected if for some reason it starts to draw more than 16A? Would a 16A mcb be better? Could I get away with a 13a fused spur?

    Wiring up a 16A - 3.1kW oven

Ah sorry, not T&E. The oven has a 3 core 1.5mm PVC flex. Is that ok?

    Wiring up a 16A - 3.1kW oven

Hello, just a quickie. My oven is rated at 3.1kW. About 14A. The manual says it needs a 'minimum fuse of 16A' My cooker circuit is currently 32A MCB > 6mm cable > 45A Cooker Switch > 6mm cable > Cooker Outlet Plate > 1.5mm 3 core flex > 16A oven. Would it be safer for me to change it to...

Sorry, another Induction Hob and Oven question

Well I certainly don't want to run a new supply or get a new oven. Do 16amp fused spurs exist, or at least 20amp? Failing that, I've read elsewhere that as the oven has a fixed rating, it should never go over 16amp so there's no risk of it overloading? Thus doesn't need a fuse? Some say 16amp...

Sorry, another Induction Hob and Oven question

Thank you for your replies. Another question. The oven needs a cable to connect it to the Dual Appliance Outlet Plate. It specifies in the instructions that a H05VV-FG 3 x 1.5mm will do. Should I do as it says or should I get a larger size? I'm thinking 2.5mm or even going up to 4mm T&E cable if...

Sorry, another Induction Hob and Oven question

Cool. So it doesn't matter that the 16A oven is on the 32A circuit?

Sorry, another Induction Hob and Oven question

Hi there, sorry to open a new thread but I've searched through the forums and can't find a definitive answer to my problem. I'm in the process of replacing my current oven and hob. At the moment I have a Gas Hob (with 13A plug for the ignition) and oven connected with a 13A plug, both plugged...
