Hi, I am going to upgrade to a fully pumped system using a Honeywell smart fit y plan.
At the moment feed and expansion are connected to the H.W flow and return near the cylinder in 22mm pipe.
I plan to alter the pipe work so it looks like this picture titled " Cold feed & expansion...
Hi guys, the flooring is not cheap but but solid oak that has been "reclaimed" (long story) and run through a planer/thicknesser.
I know that it will go wrong but he is paying (day work) and I just want the best method that might last a little longer :) I have already explained the risks and...
Hi, just finishing off a conservatory and the customer no longer wants tiles. He has decided on oak T+G flooring as a friend of his has some cheap.
My first thoughts were to lay a membrane and then glue the T+G together as a floating floor but the guy has 13 poodles who are not house trained...
Success :D
Blockage was where you said it would be + a lot of sludge at the bottom of both returns, but I think the main problem was the completly blocked HW/CH feed pipe
No wonder things went a little strange when the 2 port valve shut, it was pumping back to front and through the...
A quick update,
As soon as the 2 port valve closes to HW cylinder she gurgles and pumps out like mad so there must be a block in the single CH/HW supply from the boiler or is there a greater chance that its the HW return as suggested ?
Thanks
Ill get some pictures later when I get home from work, replacing pipework is no problem for me to do myself, just needed an idea where to look.
I will chop T jiont where the cold feed enters the system on the hw return.
Yes its aged and on its last legs and will be replaced in the summer...
Thankyou for the reply. I think the problem is with the hot water side of things which I will try to describe ....wait for it :)
The hot water stopped working by gravity in the summer as I described earlier. What I have noticed is that the return from the cylinder gets hotter than the supply...
Hello wonderful helpful plumbers :). I have a indirect sysytem with 3 pipes from the boiler, 1 hot feed to radiators and tank and 2 returns, the pump is on the radiator return. During the summer it gradually stopped heating the hot water via gravity and water would only flow around if the...
Hi, I will be moving a stud wall in a new build and want to know the best way to fix it. The walls are drylined and the flooring is chipboard. I was thinking gripfill as I have no wish to hit any pipes/cables. It will be a "L" from a stud wall to an external wall.
