    Many thanks - I guess the advantage of copper is that it leaks relatively slowly - whereas plastic floods when it pops !! I'm wondering how long it takes before it pops though ? i.e. if it doesn't do it in the first few weeks then it is OK.

    One of our stop taps is embedded in the wall and is difficult to access. It is dripping an needs replacing. It is connected to Lead pipes. Is it a task I should take on myself or is this something I should leave to a plumber? I am a bit concerned because a lot of plaster will need to be take...
