Thanks for your reply oilman. It is softwood.Doors,skirting,architrave etc. Our idea is to revarnish(the modern type with colour included) with an antique pine finish. We consider that just putting on the new varnish wont do the trick to lighten it & wondered what professional decoraters...

We have dark brown stained varnish on woodwork..it really is DARK brown.We wish to change it to antique teak stain varnish. what do we need to do to change colour successfully without total strip please? Simonsix
