Hi,
I'm replacing the external half cill on a number of sash and case windows and would like to know how feasible it is to join them to what's left of the existing (internal) cills given I've removed rotten wood from them as well.
The amount of wood removed varies but I would have a gap of...
Maybe it's not a proper cast iron bath then - steel? It isn't a proper roll top so well done on the detective work :) and  to me.
I've now finished the painting but did have to resort to using a grinder/prep wheel to remove the previous coating. This was on the advice of tubbyuk who...
Yes, I would just continue with the washing as it looks like that layer of 'paint' is the issue although I wonder why it was that wall only - looks like heavy brush marks but maybe the paint was not fit for purpose.
If the cream colour looks shiny once the wall is dry it would be no harm to...
Funds are close to zero but I'll see if one of the pros would take on with just coating it assuming the prep is good enough. Otherwise I'll go for Tubby although I would expect to need two packs given a lot of the original colour (green) has been exposed after the sanding.
Many thanks for the...
I would just use a standard scraper - not a blade scraper (if that's what you mean by a hamilton). You'll probably find out quite quickly if it's going to work. If it does, I would suggest washing the wall as you go - whilst the surface is still 'soft'.
I've prepped an old cast iron bath to repaint (too much disturbance to replace it) and wonder if anyone here can recommend a paint to use and, ideally, a cheap sprayer - only likely to be used for this job?
Hello,
we've got a new Bosch washing machine that has been in use free-standing for a few months now. The instructions state it must be fixed to the floor and I'm about to do so but just want to check re the fixings.
Instructions state to use these holding brackets but they look like...
I think some folk do eventually never to live on the ground floor again.
It's not come in the bath so far but I'll need to check tomorrow if that's in the same stack. Otherwise the crossflow valve looks ideal.
Don't suppose you know where I might get one of these on a Sunday?
Ground floor flat in shared tenement (Scotland), soil pipe shared with three flats above. Someone is flushing stuff that's not meant to be flushed and it sometimes causes a blockage at the bottom of the stack where sewage from above backs up into our toilet (and overflows into the bathroom -...
I might be fine if I'd applied existing properly.
I checked the tub and it's called 'lime putty setting stuff' not finishing stuff. The supplier is a local supplier of lime mortar who have been very good with their advice so far (I don't ask enough questions though) and I think their...
