You seem agitated streetlighter
No I certainly haven't performed an unnecessary, and not required test on my drill.
In light of this incorrect statement, and since you didn't previously give an accurate description of your sources, I decided to ask.
So, EL test on dbl insulated not compulsory.
Strongly preferred is not law. Also, it would be interesting to know exactly which edition (date, version, publisher) of the 1989 electricity at work act, you are "quoting" From. A web link/reference would be useful.
What does any of this have to do with the recognition of my Drill? The model number of which I know now anyway.
That was the title/point of this thread. I have no doubt that somewhere on this forum the discussion of electrical testing and regulations are covered fully. Perhaps...
Drill is Dbl ins. So EL n/a.
Have you tested some of your own vintage drills?
Interesting you have collection of old B&D drills. If you have one of these in a suitable condition, I might buy it from you (at the right price), as a spare, or for spares.
Any of you recent posters, ----
Please explain exactly, how and why, the drill I have pictured and described is a "shock hazard".
Also detail why it is not allowed on site by quoting the regulation(s) that say it is not.
What's really amazing, is how many people on here name...
Still waiting noseall.
Have you found this drill you reckon is a better spec than mine at a fraction of the cost of repair?
No of course you haven't.
Just like the last 2 postsers, you have nothing of use or intellgence to say. Did someone mention dummies? Yup a prize pair or 3.
Well I see that this site is not so good after all.
It is policed by politically correct minders, who dont allow the full right to reply.
I am not allowed to reply to idiots who post unwanted and inacurate comments.

Hi Seaangler.
Thanks, I found it at last. Its a P2264 or P2265. (one being variable I guess and one not). The reason its hard to spot, is that it not listed as a hammer drill, and I was looking at hammer drills to narrow the search. One odd thing is that both are listed as 115volts, but mine...
Hi,
noseall
Bosch huh? Well, as for it lasting twice as long as my "antique", well I didn't know the b and d would last for over 20 years, so your making a VERY bold statement that the Bosh will last over 40 years. I've seen plenty of reviews, that Bosch are no longer as good as their name...
Got em off. And they were bloody tight.
Here's is my home made tool.
The first one I tried it on was on an opening window. I managed to move/compress the external rubber seal along an inch from the corner of one of the upright/vertical beads, and slid the hook in. But just pulling on my...
Hi
Thanks for all the replies.
I checked out the p2270/1, and unfortunately its not the same. http://www.mtmc.co.uk/Black--Decker-P2270-Type-1-Drill-Spare-Parts/Black--Decker-P2270-Type-1-Drill-Spare-Parts__p-12707836-20778.aspx
The field winding looks the same shape, and is cheap...
All I need is a model number. The label fell of the side years ago.
I know how to fix it, I know what's wrong with it.
I just need an identification.
Does anybody recognize the model number or type?
Yup bought from RS Components at around 1986/7.
The serated black ring is the hammer action. You grip and twist it to engage or disengage it.
NEVER ever went wrong. Until now, and its only a field winding thats gone, so if I can get one the drill is good for a long time to come.
I...
